Role/ Job Title: Production Engineer

Function/ Department: Information Technology

Job Purpose:

The role entails the responsibility of providing production support to bank's software applications. It includes administering and resolving day to day production applications issues, providing updates and perform root cause analysis.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Experience in Trade Finance Application / Supply chain management.
  • Hands-on in Technologies like Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Java, MQ
  • Fair understanding with WebLogic, Apache Services, Linux.
  • Responsible for Availability, Migrations and Capacity Maintenance & Upgrades of application.
  • Handle Mandatory monthly/quarterly patching.
  • Hands-on with Application Monitoring Activities
  • Research, recommend, configure, and administer software configuration changes.
  • Perform routine operations tasks (i.e. produce reports, stat files, etc.)
  • Work with software vendor to have application issues fixed, both short term and long term (with root cause)
  • Troubleshoot errors and application issues via periodic testing, help desk tickets, and other methods.
  • Applies the identified job knowledge requirements for the role to make disciplined decisions in a timely fashion.
  • Incident / Change Management
  • Tracking the incidents in Ticketing tool and acting accordingly.
  • Good understanding on Incidents SLA, and strictly Adhering to defined SLA.
  • Good understanding of Change and Release Management.
  • Coordinating with the OEM / Vendor / Infra Team, for patch codes, bug fixes, upgrades.

Technical Skill Set:

  • Fair Knowledge on Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Web Server, App Server, Linux, Windows Server.
  • System understanding and hands on experience on Application Support.
  • Involves in planning and integrating the Business Continuity functions of Business Units.
  • Handling application audits either internal or external.
  • Responsible for Availability, Migrations and Capacity Maintenance & Upgrades of application.
  • Handle mandatory monthly/quarterly patching.

Educational Qualification (Fulltime):

Graduation: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Post-Graduation: Master of Science (M.Sc) /Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in production support and 1 year of relevant experience in Trade Finance application.
